Celeb focus: Brad Pitt
The Hollywood adonis who ages like a fine wine, needs no introduction. The Golden Globe and Academy Award winner who has graced the big screen for over nearly three decades, is still hailed as one of the world’s most famous leading men, even boasting his own production company.
Having had six children and several beautiful fiancées and wives, one thing the 56-year-old has managed to cling onto throughout his divorces is his impressive watch collection.
His luxury timepieces include Patek Philippe, Breitling, Rolex, A. Lange & Sohne and many more. But just like his movie choices, Pitt likes to diversify with some unique watch brands and has worn independent labels in films. He’s also been a brand ambassador for Tag Heuer.
But what else do you spend your cash on when you earn in excess of $30 million a year?
Breitling Emergency
Brad Pitt said that his first nice watch was a Breitling Emergency and he liked it that much that he bought one for his family and friends who regularly travel.
Breitling launched the Breitling Emergency as a backup transmitter for downed pilots or lost adventurers. Fitted with capability to broadcast an emergency signal at 121.5MHz, the watch offers a last chance SOS system to ensure the safety of its wearer when in distress.
Patek Phillippe Nautilus 5711
The actor’s luxury sports watch has a dark dial matched with a stainless steel case and bracelet.
It’s so stylish and sophisticated but can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Water resistant to 120 metres, it’s a truly versatile watch – not to mention incredibly hard to get hold of.
The 400mm size is incredibly popular but the thin dimensions make the sporty appeal of the timepiece, more refined.
Going back to happier times, the Nautilus, that cost $300,000, was gifted to him by his ex-wife Angelina Jolie when they got engaged.
Cartier Tank a Guichet
Brad’s Cartier Tank A Guichet stands out as it has no dial. But this isn’t a regular Tank or Santos. This model only has a jumping hour and wandering minute indication. With a manual winding nickel lever movement, and 19 jewels, its 18ct pink gold nbrushed case is secured by eight screws to the pack and is faceted with a sapphire-set crown. It’s a limited edition with just 100 pieces.
It was issued to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Cartier, and is a re-edition of the original Tank A Guichet of 1928.
Brad has more Swiss Made luxury watches including staple favourites: Rolex’s GMT Master II, Submariner, Daytona and a Day Date.
