Father’s Day 2021: The best luxury watches for Dad

It’s that time of year again  – Father’s Day – when you’re all out of ideas to thank your old man for being tremendous.

If you’ve done whisky, meals out and trips away, we’ve rounded up our favourite luxury watches to consider as a great gift for Dad on Sunday 20th June.

Whether Dad is a sports nut or a trendsetter, we’ve got the watch for him.

Dapper dad ~ Santos de Cartier

If dad is sophisticated and likes the vintage touch, he’ll love the iconic Santos de Cartier watch. With its square shape and visible screws, this timepiece honours the Parisian geometry of 1904 and is based on the concept of form, a taste for minimalism, the precision of proportions and an eye for detail.

We love this large steel model with mechanical movement and automatic winding, calibre 1847 MC. This Cartier classic also features a 7-sided crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel, silvered opaline dial, steel sword-shaped hand and a steel bracelet with a SmartLink adjustment.

Stylish dad ~ Omega Seamaster 300

This newly redesigned is a cheaper diving watch but below the surface, the vintage-style timepiece is a great option for sporty dads.

It features a thinner bezel made from anodised-treated aluminium to make it super robust and a state-of-the-art chronometer movement featuring Omega’s classic co-axial escapement.

But the dial is a particular favourite here. It’s a new sandwich concept which sees a base layer with Super Lumi-Nova and a second plate over the top for cuttings for the recessed hour markers and vintage numerals.

Jet-setter Dad ~ Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer

If Dad is normally on a plane jetting here, there and everywhere, he can’t be without the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer.

We love the contrast between the stainless steel case and the stunning green dial on the green alligator strap. With a map of the world as the centre and luminous indexes to show it off, it’s a handy watch to have when he’s stuck between time zones.

There’s a date counter at 6 o’clock. A night and day indication as well as a city disc featuring 24 cities! So Dad is sure to know what time it is when he’s away from his lovely children.

Sporty Dad ~ Hublot Big Bang Integral Ceramic

We can’t get enough of the case colour of this sporty offering. It’s a polished and satin finished, titanium-style, gun-metal grey. It’s also available in blue and white.

The 42mm case is entirely of ceramic, except for the lugs and pushers. The material combines scratch resistance with low weight making it a great option for sport. Incredibly, it is two to three times harder than steel, but 30% lighter and it’s comfortable to wear thanks to its low thermal conductivity.

With the popular integrated bracelet, it’s a great option for sports fans everywhere.
