It’s a wrap: Our Patek Philippe picks from the latest collection

There’s always excitement in the air for knowing collectors when Patek Philippe releases something new.

But in the last month we’ve been treated to a whole host of groundbreaking complications from the brand as the horology world gears up for Watches and Wonders 2023.

And the new offerings will certainly give followers something to chat about as there are ten fantastic new timepieces up for grabs.

World Time flyback chronograph

Say hello to our favourite of the bunch – the new reference 5935A-001.

We’re especially excited about this one as we think it could be setting the tone for what is to come in the new year.

It’s the first stainless steel version of this model – the self-winding World Time flyback chronograph –  and has an incredible opaline rose gilt dial.

This watch brings sporty, vintage and contemporary feel into the same watch, making it the perfect accessory for any occasion with a power reserve of up to 55 hours.

Features

The 41mm stainless steel case has a diameter of 41mm and is 12.75mm tall – which is fairly impressive considering its complicated self-winding movement, the calibre CH 28-520 HU which corrects all displays with a single pusher at 10 o’clock.

What is fancy about this model is the combination of the 30-minute flyback chronograph with a traditional world time of 24-hour and a day/night indication for the twenty-four time zones. And if it is the night time, you’ll love the charcoal grey hour markers with luminescent coating.

The watch comes complete with two different calfskin straps  – one in grained taupe and the other in beige with a nubuck finish.

A release for the ladies

Another new one – and we’re still coming round to the strap colour – is the first ladies’ chronograph in the sporty-chic, contemporary Aquanaut Luce collection.

Reference 7968/300R-001 Aquanaut Luce ‘Rainbow’ chronograph in rose gold was created especially for active women. It features a funky rainbow consisting of baguette diamonds and multi-colored sapphire that are invisibly set.

The unique combination of spirited sporty looks comes with three ultra-resistant composite straps in red, matte beige and matte white.

A new design icon

If reference 5811/1G-001 looks familiar, it should! Patek Philippe’s new-style Nautilus features a 41mm case and bracelet in white gold as well as a blue sunburst dial with a black gradation to the periphery.

Like the original Nautilus of 1976, it has a two-part case and features several subtle technical refinements and patented innovations: a secured fold-over clasp, a new lockable adjustment system, and a new pull-out piece lever system that replaces the split stem.

If you’ve been on the Nautilus waiting lists for years, note that these won’t be around long either!
