It’s the most wonderful time of the year
We’re in full festive swing here at Luxe Watches! This week we’ve been busy decking our High Street boutique with boughs of holly to put the fizz into the most wonderful time of the year.
To get us in the yuletide mood, we loved getting involved with Epping Town Council’s Christmas market which was held on Saturday.
It was a fabulous day time affair with more than 50 stalls selling everything from quirky gifts through to festive food.
Entertainment was non-stop following Town Mayor Michael Wright’s welcome speech. Academy Arts Theatre School, which is performing the musical ‘Annie’ at Zinc Arts Centre in Ongar this month, provided a showstopping performance and there were also great offerings from Epping Primary School Choir, the Ivy Chimneys Primary School Choir, Epping Music School, Rock Choir and local musicians ‘Hanna and Music’ and Matthew Shepherd.
Hammond and Smith estate agents were presented with the Audrey Rose Cup for having the best Christmas window display.
Rockin’ reindeer
But the best bit was Santa’s reindeer, who took a break from their busy schedule to fly down to the Market Garden and say hello – and we were thrilled to be able to part-sponsor this, along with some rides and photo opportunities for families.
And of course, Santa was there to check if he had everyone on the right list.
Adding to the relaxing ambience was the town’s superb Christmas lighting, installed annually by the town council. The 25ft Christmas tree was a particular feature and kindly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Epping.
High Street businesses, including ourselves, supported the event by extending our opening hours and offering a promotional discount while others offered free gift-wrapping or gave out free samples.
