Main event: Mancini timepiece is a keeper
Former Manchester City boss turned Italy team manager Roberto Mancini brings his sophistication with an air of cool for this Richard Mille collaboration. The suave Italian won a title with Inter Milan and was admired on the pitch by Sampdoria, years before even visiting Maine Road wearing his lovely scarf.

A game of two halves
The watch created by Mancini and Richard Mille was, of course, inspired by the love of the game. And with extra time and stoppages often crucial moments for every football manager, time is of the essence as it’s when some critical decisions need to be made. And with players not knowing how long is left in each half, anxiety is always on the horizon.
What makes this watch unique is the flyback chronograph that features a central minute counter and a dial which is split into periods of play – how nifty is that?
Technically brilliant
According to the Swiss watch giant, Mancini is a true ‘gentleman of football’ and the very image of the brand: creative, refined and technically brilliant. The RM 11-01 has a stunning rose gold and titanium tonneau case, measuring in at 50mm. The month is displaying in Arabic numerals within a green aperture between 4 and 5 o’clock.
But it is fairly chunky at 16mm thick – it’s simply not designed to fit under a cuff, it’s there to be on show. And with it’s ultra smooth case and subtle rubber strap (available in neon green or black) featuring a titanium matte-finish fold-over clasp, it’s perfect for sport – and the sidelines.
The RM11-01 calibre RMAC1 can be viewed through Sapphire crystal and clear case back. The skeletonised dial displays the time based on two 45-minute halves and up to 15 minutes’ stoppage time. An annual calendar with oversized date display is offered, with a power reserve of up to 50 hours and water resistance of 50 meters, so whatever sport you choose, it’s the perfect partner. But even musician Nick Jonas has been spotted wearing the Richard Mille watch on several occasions.
