Meet our sales executive… Anthony Neophytou

He’s been with us for one year now and Anthony Neophytou is certainly a valued member of our team here in Epping. We’ve quizzed him all about his favourite finds, the watch he’d love to own and why he likes his job so much.

What’s the best watch you’ve sold at Luxe Watches?

It’s difficult but if I had to choose, I’d go for the RM055 Bubba Watson with factory diamonds. It was inspired by the RM038 Bubba Watson tourbillon that was released in 2011. I love Richard MIlle watches in general but the RM055 is a highly technical design that is innovative, sporty, and hand-finished in the finest watchmaking tradition.I think the diamonds add to the quality and style, and I do like a transparent dial and skeletonised movement.

Which is the most unusual watch you’ve seen in store?

The most unusual was the 1 of 1 Sand-blasted RM004. It was created by Richard Mille for a special client and was the only one in the world with the unique sand-blasted bezel. It was great to see it in the flesh as it was more than five years in development to get to the perfect model. It’s one of the most complicated timepieces ever released in the industry.

We’re going to give you any watch you want now, for free. What do you choose?

What a question. If I could have one watch for free it would be the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 15450ST with the blue Grande Tapisserie dial. I’m a huge fan of this model and for me personally, the size of this watch works perfectly and the versatility of a stainless steel watch is unmatched. The watch never ages and looks just as good with shorts and a T-shirt as it does with a shirt and trousers.

What would you recommend for a customer who wanted to buy their first luxury watch?

I would always recommend a Rolex Datejust. This was my first Rolex and I absolutely loved it. It has a timeless aesthetic and while it doesn’t have the following of a Submariner, the design is popular and has remained  largely unchanged for more than seven decades. Its main features just adapt to the rest of the Rolex family with the Jubilee bracelet, the Cyclops window and the two-tone metal springing to mind.

Have you ever sold a watch to someone famous?

I served Bradley Walsh recently – nice guy. He came into the store looking for a watch for his daughter. He didn’t buy anything but he was interested in the ladies’ Rolex Datejust models that we had available.

What do you love about your job?

I like working in the industry as I love watches and I am always looking to learn more about them – working at Luxe allows me to do that. Also, being able to assist people with purchasing their dream watch is a fantastic feeling. I get a lot of satisfaction from that. I also like being able to provide people with valuable advice and information. I’m just happy  to chat watches with our customers whether on the phone or those who walk in.

If someone needs help to find the perfect watch, what should they do?

They’d be more than welcome to ring up and make an appointment with me! I can help advise them on a style or brand they might prefer, depending on their budget. We also buy luxury watches, so if they wanted to part-exchange a Rolex, for example, they could.
