Soaring through time: Breitling’s anniversary Aerospace B70 Orbiter

Breitling enthusiasts! Get ready to soar through time with the unveiling of the Aerospace B70 Orbiter – a timepiece that not only marks a significant milestone in aviation history but also pays homage to a remarkable journey.

It honours the 25th anniversary of the daring non-stop round-the-world balloon flight, achieved by Bertrand Piccard and Brian Jones on March 21,1999. They landed in Egypt after a record-breaking journey of 45,633 km, which they completed in 19 days, 21 hours, and 47 minutes – setting the record for the longest distance and the longest time.

But this new timepiece is extra special as Breitling marks its 140th anniversary this year, with the Aerospace leading the series of anticipated anniversary releases.

This particular timepiece blends cutting-edge technology with a nod to aviation history, but what makes it ultra cool, is that there is a piece of the original balloon in the case back of each watch.

The caseback also carries the inscription “First non-stop flight around the world 25th anniversary”.

Aesthetics

Crafted with a 43mm titanium case and available on either a sleek titanium bracelet or sporty rubber strap with folding clasp, this watch is comfy for any adventure.

Slightly thicker than the E79363 generation’s 10.88mm – but this could due to the inclusion of a sapphire case back and the in-house COSC-certified Superquartz B70 movement.

Fitting in perfectly with its Aerospace lineage, the B70 Orbiter – named after the mission – features an ani-digi layout, seamlessly integrating analog and digital elements.

With all the essentials like date and second time zone displays to advanced features such as a flyback chronograph, timer, and alarm, this timepiece is designed to meet the demands of modern explorers.

But what we really love about the Aerospace B70 Orbiter is its bold orange gradient base – matched to the paint of the Orbiter 3. The dial also has a logo from the Orbiter 3 mission.

It’s not just a watch; it’s a symbol of courage, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of the extraordinary.
