Superbowl LVI: Who wore which watch
Los Angeles Rams won the Super Bowl LVI in dramatic fashion with a 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.
But there was a whole host of celebrities trying to distract us from some of the most exciting football in recent memory!
Let’s face it, anywhere that Eminem, Mary J Blige and Dr. Dre are providing the Halftime Show entertainment and The Rock is announcing the teams, there’s bound to be epic wristwear – and we weren’t disappointed with Patek Philippe Nautiluses galore.
Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock
The man with the muscles could only suit a giant-size watch – he wore a Panerai Submersive Goldtech OroCarbo dive watch at an eye-watering 47mm. Goldtech – an alloy of gold, copper and platinum – is resistant to both sweat and seawater (300M) making it a great option for the sportsman.
It’s a manly and luxurious offering, with a three-hour power reserve. But it’s not his only watch, the collector also owns pieces by Breitling, IWC and Audemars Piguet.
Le Bron James
Easily spotted due to its fantastic Tiffany Blue dial, King James was seen sporting a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711. Leonardo Di Caprio and Jay-Z have also been spotted in the watch, which was limited to 170 pieces.
It’s nearly impossible to get your hands on in its normal iterations, requiring decade-long waiting lists, special relationships with retailers or paying prices above retail.
Comedian Kevin Hart
A major fan of collecting watches, Kevin was spotted in an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak but on a chocolate leather strap rather than a bracelet. The special edition in 18-carat pink gold has a two-tone dial and expanded chronograph counters in pink gold.
He must be a fan of the brand as we know he also has a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked watch in rose gold.
Ellen DeGeneres
Also an avid vintage watch collector, Ellen was seen wearing a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711R. She was watching the game with her wife, Portia de Rossi, who wore a vintage Rolex GMT Master.
