Watches of Sylvester Stallone
“Do you like having a good time? Then you need a good watch!” Adrian uttered to Rocky Balboa in Rocky II.
But, yo Adrian! Did you know that your on-screen lover is quite the watch collector off camera?
American actor, screenwriter and director Sylvester Stallone landed major roles as fearless fighter Rocky and badass Vietnam veteran John Rambo, which made him a star of the action genre – despite having a speech impediment.
Now the 76 year old even stars in a reality TV show – The Family Stallone – which debuted this month.
With wealth comes luxury so it should be no surprise that the Stallone watches collection packs a fair punch. And if you’re about to google ‘Sylvester Stallone Rolex’ to see his preferred wristwear, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered!
Where it all began
In his early career days the Rolex Sylvester Stallone often wore was a gold submariner, with a Tiffany & Co stamp on the dial.
He first saw the watch on the wrist of sleeping rock singer Gregg Allman on a flight – and having admired it was keen to track it down on landing.
Of all Stallone’s watches, he says this one is still one he loves dearly due to the strength, simplicity and masculine shape – and because it was the first valuable thing he could afford to buy.
Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi
Who isn’t a GMT Master II fan? Sylvester Stallone loves Rolex and owns a fair few.
One of his favourites is the Pepsi on a jubilee bracelet. With a black dial and two-colour Cerachrom bezel insert in red and blue ceramic, it’s designed to show the time in two different time zones.
In addition to conventional hour, minute and seconds hands, the GMT-Master II features an arrow-tipped hand, which circles the dial once every 24 hours, as well as a bidirectional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel. He also has the diamond version.
Amongst other Rolex Sylvester Stallone owns, is a GMT-Master II black diamonds.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711/1300A
We’re not at all jealous of his rare stainless steel and diamond-set bezel Nautilus 5711/1300A – probably the most sought-after timepiece released in 2021.The first for a stainless steel 5711 with diamonds. It’s a truly beautiful 40mm size with a sunburst olive dial.
Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980/1R
This stunning watch with the rounded octagonal shape of its bezel, ingenious porthole-inspired case and horizontally embossed dial, has epitomised the elegant sports watch since 1976.
Almost 50 years later, it’s still a sought-after watch now available in steel, rose gold, two-tone and white gold, with this style sporting the mechanical self-winding movement calibre CH28-520 C.
Richard Mille RM 032
As if we haven’t mentioned enough already, Stallone watches vary in style from Patek through to Richard Mille. In The Expendables (2014) he was spied with an RM 032 on his wrist but this was auctioned by Phillips for $816,000.
The crazy-looking dive watch packs in everything you’d want from a watch and more. The titanium 50mm wide timepiece is water resistant to 300m. What appears to be a three-handed watch quickly turns into some kind of puzzle but it’s quite the artwork for… someone with time on their hands.
