The Polo Club Saint-Tropez And The Two Limited Edition Richard Mille Pieces That It Inspired

The Polo Club Saint-Tropez is a annual event that is one of its kind in France. The club is located in one of the most beautiful villages in France called Gassin, buried in the south of France between Saint-Tropez and Pampelonne. Every year, teams travel from all over the world to compete in all different and unique tournaments. The tournaments that are held by the club have attracted the finest players for the past 30 years mainly down to the hard work of the president of the club, Corinne Schuler.

Accompanying the Polo Club, Richard Mille gives the event even more style by exhibiting the latest and most exclusive timepieces the brand could offer. Richard Mille was appointed the Official Timekeeper to the Polo Club Saint-Tropez in 2013.

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille released two new limited edition skeleton watches to honour their third year of partnership with the Polo Club St Tropez. The releases include the RM 029 Polo Club Saint-Tropez and the RM 07-01 Polo Club Saint-Tropez, the first ladies timepiece to be added to the range.

Richard Mille stated that 2015 was the year of ladies’ watches, and the RM 07-01 certainly backs his claim. The sleek timepiece is cased in white ceramic, with a white rubber crown and lapis lazuli dial with a matching blue rehaut. At the heart of the timepiece is a highly skeletonized CRMA2 movement that gives the watch a power reserve of 50 hours. Moreover, this highly collectable piece will be limited to only 30 pieces. The colours of the watch are symbolic of the colours associated with the French Riviera.

The RM 029 Polo Club Saint-Tropez is a model that Richard Mille fans would be more familiar with, due to the classic tonneau shape and 48mm size. Embodied in black ceramic, the watches caseband is created from the lightweight material NTPT (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon. The upper and lower rehaut will be blue and white to reflect to colours of the polo club, and features the clubs emblem on the back.

“We are proud to be the official timekeeper of the Polo Club Saint-Tropez and excited to release these two new editions into the Richard Mille Collection,” says Peter Harrison, CEO Richard Mille Europe, Middle East and Africa. “The Polo Club and Richard Mille have the same luxury principles and the watches represent cutting edge design, technical brilliance and dedication for the best in their respective fields.”

We at Luxe Watches were grateful to be invited to the event.

Both pieces are currently available at Richard Mille boutiques in Europe and the Middle East.
