Why we love the new Sea Dweller Deepsea Challenge
Something just a little bit exciting just happened…Charlie from our buying team just got his hands on a newly-released 50mm Sea Dweller Deepsea Challenge in RLX titanium

The reference 126067 has a much smaller dial than the 11660, but its 50mm case just looks massive, making it look super spaceage.
Today’s bigger Rolex watches – we’re talking the Yacht Master II or Sea Dweller Deepsea – come in at 44mm, so to debut a 50mm is quite the leap.
It’s also the first time a Rolex watch has been created in all-titanium.
Let’s take a look at some of the features which make it an all round fabulous diving watch.
Rotating bezel
The Deepsea Challenge boasts a 60-minute graduated, unidirectional rotatable bezel, allowing divers to accurately and safely track their dive and decompression times.
Created by Rolex, the bezel insert is made from a patented black Cerachrom ceramic that is virtually scratch proof and resistant to the discoloration effects of ultraviolet rays, while the graduation is coated with a thin layer of platinum using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition).
Chromalight
The watch’s sleek black dial features large Chromalight hour markers and hands filled with luminescent material, emitting a long-lasting blue glow for excellent visibility in low-light conditions.
The luminescent Chromalight display on the dial represents a groundbreaking innovation that enhances visibility in low-light conditions, a crucial attribute for divers.
With uncomplicated geometric shapes such as triangles, circles, and rectangles as hour markers, along with broad hour and minute hands, reading the time becomes swift and dependable, minimising the risk of confusion during underwater activities.
And did we mention it’s water-resistant to 36,090 feet?
RLX Titanium
And now we come to the lightweight RLX grade 5 titanium. The material used for the case and bracelet offers an exceptional resistance to corrosion. It’s also 30 per cent lighter than the initial experiment watch that James Cameron took to the Mariana Trench, which was made of 904L steel.
What you do see with the satin finish is a distinctive grain, but not on the crown. The top edges have been chamfered and polished.
Oyster bracelet
The Oyster bracelet of the Deepsea Challenge is a seamless blend of form and function. Featuring the innovative Rolex Glidelock and Fliplock extension systems, the bracelet needs no tools for adjustments.
This unique combination allows comfortable wear over a diving suit up to 7 mm thick, making it perfect for underwater exploration.

This watch features a helium escape valve designed to regulate decompression by automatically releasing accumulated gases within it.
Additionally, the Ringlock system features a nitrogen-alloyed steel ring within the case, providing protection against the tremendous pressure encountered in the depths of the ocean.
Moreover, the Triplock screw-down crown, equipped with three sealed zones, ensures effective water resistance.
Powering the watch is the new-generation caliber 3230, boasting a 70-hour power reserve and a chronometric precision rating of –2 /+2 seconds per day.
