Celeb focus: Cagefighting king Conor McGregor shows off enviable collection

Here at Luxe Watches, we love a gander at what our favourite celebs are wearing and recent social posts by UFC superstar Conor McGregor left us keen to check out his collection.

The Dubliner, who recently retired, obviously isn’t short of a few quid as he took to Instagram to show off his £111,000 Rolex.

During an illustrious career he’s earned around £120 million, with his biggest cheque delivered in that smasher vs Floyd Mayweather.

The sports star is certainly flash with that cash – and loves to show it off on any occasion.

Eye of the Tiger

His latest snap shows him pouring himself a measure of his own whiskey, with a slick Rolex Daytona 116588TBR, coined ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ on his wrist. But in the pics that follow, he doesn’t even take it off to go haring about on a jet ski.

The yellow gold Cosmograph Daytona has a bezel set with 36 trapeze-cut diamonds weaved in with a curious structure of yellow gold, with the eyes vaguely reminiscent of a tiger…

The 40mm dial comes on a Rolex Oysterflex strap – so not leather but a black rubber strap, with a patented cushion system on the inside, for maximum comfort.

Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40

Perhaps being smashed in the face umpteen times over the years allows you to build up a hefty stack of cash to splash out on quite the luxury watch collection…

‘Notorious’ also owns a stunning Rolex ref 228206-0002. It’s an Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 in platinum with an ice blue, diamond-set dial, smooth bezel and a president bracelet. He’s been spotted wearing this one casually for the last three years.

It’s the perfect choice for an athlete with stop-seconds for precise time setting,high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers and water resistance to 100m.

McGregor has been seen wearing a Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sky-Dweller, which is also owned by Cristiano Ronaldo.

And he’s such a fan that he owns both the original and the rose gold version. Great for the modern traveller, the wristwear featured calibre 9001 and dual time zone display.

Quite the collection

And it doesn’t stop there as McGregor also owns a host of Patek Philippe, including a Nautilus 5980 1AR 001 would’ve set him back around £75,000.

McGregor showed off his vivid new Patek Special Series 5905P-014 on the same platform. Branded “The Hulk” by McGregor, although not the Rolex you might expect, the emerald-faced watch comes complete with matching crocodile strap and platinum case.

This particular watch was limited to 25 pieces and only launched in April 2019. Its launch marked the 150th anniversary of Weir & Sons, and the 50th anniversary of their partnership with Patek Phillippe.

But one of the most expensive watches in his collection is this dazzling diamond Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, which set him back around £105,000.

But if you fancy your own bit of  bling, you won’t be able to get this one as it was custom made.
