Christmas 2019: The best luxury watches to gift

The tree is up, your cards have been written and the kids’ advent calendars are underway, so there’s just a few more things to consider. Are you still in need of the perfect gift for a loved one this Christmas?

Here at Luxe Watches we have compiled our horological gift guide including the best watches on the market. Whether your gift recipient is suave and sophisticated or a lover of fine jewels, we’ve got something for everyone.

Patek Philippe Nautilus 5976/1G

It may be a desired gift across the globe but actually receiving a Patek Philippe from the Nautilus collection could be just a dream, even if you are on Santa’s nice list.

Only 1,300 Patek Philippe Nautilus 5976/1G were produced to celebrate the 40th anniversary of this iconic timepiece.

This watch case is crafted in 18 karat white gold and at 44 mm is slightly larger than the standard model, at its heart is the caliber CH 28-520 C self winding automatic flyback chronograph movement.

The stunning blue dial features a date display, chronograph sub-dial, diamond hour markers and a double fold over deployment clasp on the bracelet.

IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph ‘Le Petit Prince’

From superior movements to stylish construction, quality is key with luxury watches and Le Petit Prince certainly has it. Whether your recipient is at the bar or in the boardroom, a subtle steel case and brown leather strap combination says ‘sophistication’.

Featuring automatic movement with both date and chronograph complications, a polished steel case and a sapphire crystal lens protecting the blue Arabic dial, this IWC timepiece never fails to perform.

Clé de Cartier

Clé de Cartier’s design is testament to accuracy, balance and proportion; with soft curves, clean lines and a rounded profile.

With a steel case, key set with a synthetic spinel, silvered flinqué dial with sunray effect and blued-steel sword-shaped hands, it’s elegant enough for work or dinner.

The 35 mm and 40 mm Clé de Cartier models house the calibre 1847 MC – the new Cartier manufacture movement.

Audemars Piguet Code 11.59

For that someone who ‘has everything’, this slick number from Audemars will brighten up a Christmas morning.

With serious design detail to the case and dials, comes the Code 11.59. The beautifully crafted design featuring the in-house calibre 5134, is just over 4mm thick.

This watch also includes an astronomical moon display that requires adjustment once every 122 years and 108 days.

Cartier Tank Solo XL

With an automatic Cartier 1847MC movement inside, it’s surprisingly one of the brand’s most affordable mechanical men’s watches.

At 31mm wide and 7.7mm thick, there are some variations including a case in 18k pink gold and steel. We think the black leather strap looks smart teamed with a matching leather belt and shoes.
