Speed records, sailboats and life on the seas
A wind-powered sailboat sponsored by watchmaker Richard Mille, is set to break the world sailing speed record (79mph) with a target speed of 92mph next year.
Final designs for the SP80 ‘Sea Rocket’ have emerged revealing aerodynamic compartments including bucket seats and oxygen masks.
Two pilots – one steering the kits and one ensuring the trajectory of the boat – will undertake the record-breaking attempt together in similar intensity to driving a Formula One car on land.
